കുപ്രസിദ്ധ സീരിയൽ കില്ലർ യോർക്ക്ഷയർ റിപ്പർ പീറ്റർ സട്ട്ക്ലിഫ് മരിച്ചു. 74 വയസായിരുന്നു. യോർക്ക്‌ഷെയറിലും വടക്കുപടിഞ്ഞാറൻ ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലുമായി 13 സ്ത്രീകളെയാണ് പീറ്റർ സട്ട്ക്ലിഫ് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയത്. ഇതിന് ശിക്ഷയീയി ലഭിച്ച ജീവപര്യന്തം തടവിൽ കഴിവെയായിരുന്നു മരണം.

കോവിഡ് ബാധിതനായ ഇദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ചികിത്സ നിഷേധിച്ചതായും റിപ്പോർട്ടുകളുണ്ട്.
1975 ഒക്ടോബറിലാണ് പീറ്റർ തന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ ആദ്യ ക്രൂരകൊലപാതകം നടത്തിയത്. 28-കാരിയും നാലുകുട്ടികളുടെ അമ്മയുമായിരുന്ന വിൽമ മക്കാനായിരുന്നു ആദ്യ ഇര. ചുറ്റിക കൊണ്ട് അടിച്ച് പരുക്കേൽപ്പിച്ച ശേഷം 15 തവണ കുത്തിയാണ് വിൽമയെ പീറ്റർ കൊലപ്പെടുത്തിയത്.

കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടവരുടെ മൃതദേഹം ചുറ്റിക, സ്‌ക്രൂഡ്രൈവർ, കത്തി എന്നിവ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് വികൃതമാക്കിയിരുന്നതിനാലാണ് സട്ട്ക്ലിഫിന് യോർക്ക്ഷയർ റിപ്പർ എന്ന് വിളിച്ചിരുന്നത്.
